Flushing Water Mains

The Water Department will be flushing water mains at various locations throughout Rogers City from    8-21-11 through 9-2-11 between the hours of 9:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Due to the process of flushing water mains, there may be some discoloration of your water at times. Please, check your water for discoloration before doing any laundry. The purpose for the flushing is to improve water quality.  This service is provided as part of your utility service.  For more information call 734-2191.

Serving on the "Front Line"

Thank you to all friendly local service people: waitresses, store clerks, repair persons, gas station attendants, and more. Every day you greet people, putting a "good face" on, regardless of your backache, sick child, or other problems. You are important! Thank you for representing Rogers City to this community and to our visitors.

An article by Mary Beth Stutzman, entitled "Fortifying Alpen's Font Line" describes the importance of everyday working people in the service industry very well.  Ms. Stutzman, formerly a waitress desribes the important inpact of those people who worj "on the front line."  If the tone of a community is positive, it helps everyone!

Walking School Bus

Last night City Council approved the Walking School Bus Program, providing payment of $9 per hour for up to 240 hours to two "Walking School Bus Coordinators." Funding is provided by the Michigan Fitness Foundation.
